Position Description:

The head routesetter is responsible for implementation and administration of route setting policies in order to achieve company route setting goals. The head routesetter maintains a collaborative and advisory relationship with the director of setting  and manager with regards to route setting matters including; safety, employee recruitment and retention, compensation and benefits, talent development, performance management, policy development and employee relations. This position is expected to ensure route setting responsibilities, and to provide guidance as needed to ensure processes are within established guidelines. The head routesetter is an essential part of the management team and plays an integral role in developing and executing company strategy and growth initiatives. 

Essential Functions:

The essential functions of the Head Routesetter are:

  • Partners with the Director of Routesetting, General Manager, and setters to communicate various route setting policies, procedures, and standards. 

  • Regularly participates and engages in route setting, forerunning, and on-site route setter training

  • Manages the setting specific training and development for setters.

  • Collaborate with the  Director of Routesetting to develop hold orders for their facility. 

  • Manages and oversees Routesetters and works in partnership with them to mitigate risk of injury. 

  • Seeks feedback from our community, with the goal of better serving them through adjusting grade distribution, setting style, inconsistent grading, etc.
